Overview
#Keurboomstrand Keurboomstrand (Keurboom beach) is a coastal village on the opposite side of the Keurbooms River from Plettenberg Bay. It is in a prime spot on the Garden Route and highly popular for camping, fishing and swimming - enjoying the frequent sunshine of South Africa. The word 'Keurboom' comes from the local Keurboom tree or 'choice tree' (Virgilia oroboides), which produces pretty pink-mauve flowers from August to September and again in December. The village is at the foot of a mountain covered with trees.
Visitors to Keurboomstrand have the privilege of enjoying pristine beaches, good swimming in the Indian Ocean and walks along unspoiled beaches. From Keurboomstrand you also have easy access (half hour's drive) to highlights like the Tsitsikamma, Storms River Mouth, Knysna, Nature's Valley and the attractions of Plettenberg Bay.
