You travel from Durban to Underberg/Himeville to enter the World Heritage site of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park and travel through the beautiful Sani Valley to the South African border post. Then you head up this highest pass in South Africa in a 4x4 vehicle. The pass is 9 km long and requires and experienced driver. It lies between the border control of South Africa and Lesotho. You need 'multiple-entry' visas for Lesotho/South Africa. The road winds up the pass with lovely views over the valley. After passing through the Lesotho border post at the top of the pass you visit a Basotho village to learn about the culture of the people of Lesotho. You enjoy lunch in the highest pub in Africa.
