##Barrydale Barrydale in the Tradouw Valley is one of the picturesque small towns in the Klein Karoo (Translated “Little Karoo”). From Cape Town, Barrydale can be reached by travelling on the popular Route 62 via Worcester and Montague, or you can take the N2 to Swellendam and then take the turnoff for Barrydale. The road passes through the Langeberg Mountains via the Tradouw Pass.

The narrow and fertile Tradouw Valley is nestled between the Langeberg and Swartberg Mountain ranges. The historic and well preserved church, shops and houses add to a lovely picture when one enters the valley and approaches the town. Barrydale is an agricultural town and the surrounding farms produce wine as well as fruit for export and for the nearby cannery at Ashton.

The town offers many attractions to visitors. Hikers have a number of routes to choose from. The Barrydale Heritage Garden is a micro cosmos of the succulent floral wealth of the winter rainfall area of the Little Karoo. The Barrydale Cellar produces export quality dry wines and brandy from the grapes of the surrounding vineyards. 'Warmwaterberg Spa' is a hot water mineral spring resort that offers a variety of self catering as well as camping facilities.
