#KwaZulu-Natal North Coast The North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa offers wonderful stretches of unspoilt sandy beaches, inland you find rolling fields of sugar cane. The coast is known as the Dolphin coast, due to the frequent sighting of dolphins in the waves nearby. The towns along the North Coast are popular with holidaymakers, attracted by the beaches and moderate climate, enabling swimming all year round.
The variety of activities to choose from include excellent fishing and diving spots, scenic challenging golf courses, surfing, sunbathing, and swimming. Tennis courts, squash courts, bowling greens and well equipped fitness centres are available in the area.
The coast provides a number of private and provincial game reserves for visitors to enjoy. The Northern part of the coast also boasts a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Isimangaliso Wetlands Park. This Park is stretches over a 155 Km coastline and stretches 5 Km into the ocean. The largest estuary system in Africa, the St Lucia Lake, is also to be found here.
The many towns along the coast offer a wide variety of restaurants and accommodation to suit all tastes and requirements. For 'shopaholics' there are modern shopping centres and specialist shops catering for all tastes.
