Paarl wine estates

#Paarl wine estates South African wines are rated with those from the other top wine-producing regions in the world. The district of Paarl in the Cape Winelands boasts approximately 30 of the 100 plus estates in the Cape Wine lands. Many of them cater for visitors with the opportunity of wine tasting.

The estate Africa Deluxe Tours prefer to use, is Fairview. It is situated against the Southern slopes of Paarl Mountain with wonderful views over the mountains and valleys of the Winelands. Fairview has a clearly stated policy and philosophy of eco-friendly conservation methods of farming. This historic farm that dates back to the late 1600’s, when it was first farmed by a French Huguenot, is an example of balancing the requirements of sustainable farming methods, commercially viable production and good natural conservation policies.

A visit to the estate gives the opportunity of tasting some of their award winning wines, as well as the large variety of cheeses from cow- and goat- milk produced on the farm. The Goat Shed restaurant serves wonderful platters of homemade breads, olive oil, cheeses, and wines.
