3 Days Cape Town to Port Elizabeth Scheduled Tour
Overview
The tour departs from Cape Town. You head east along the N2 highway, across Sir Lowry's Pass, through the Overberg Region and the Tradouw Pass to the Klein Karoo. In Oudtshoorn you experience ostriches up close and visit the Cango Caves. The tour then takes you to the Garden Route with a scenic stop en route to Knysna. On day three you continue on the Garden Route to include visits to Tsitsikamma and Storm's River Mouth before arriving at Port Elizabeth.
Itinerary
- Day 1 Cape Town → Oudtshoorn
Cape Town to Oudtshoorn via Route 62 (± 265 Km)
You will be collected at your hotel to depart for Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo. The route takes you along the N2 National Highway, across the Hottentots Holland Mountains via Sir Lowry's Pass with beautiful views over False Bay. Enter the Overberg region and travel to the historic town of Swellendam where you leave the N2 to turn north through the Tradouw Pass and into the Little Karoo. Enjoy lunch en route (own account) and continue on the popular route 62 for Oudtshoorn.
Visit an ostrich farm and get to know these strange and wonderful birds up close. You will visit a hatchery and learn about the history and future of ostriches.
Check in at your country hotel, relax and enjoy dinner (own account).

- Day 2 Oudtshoorn → Knysna
Oudtshoorn to Knysna via Wilderness (± 125 Km)
After breakfast, you travel down the valley to the Cango Caves where you do the one hour standard tour. Enjoy the magnificent caves with their fascinating stalagmites and stalactites, huge halls and narrow passages. After the tour you leave the Oudtshoorn region to travel along the Outeniqua Pass into the Garden Route, named after its lush and diverse vegetation. Enjoy a photo stop at Wilderness (weather permitting) . From there you travel further along the Garden Route to Knysna, situated around the Knysna Estuary. Check in at your hotel on the Waterfront and use the opportunity to browse some of the galleries and markets. Dinner will be at one of the restaurants at the Waterfront (own account).

- Day 3 Knysna Estuary → Port Elizabeth
Knysna to Port Elizabeth via Tsitsikamma Forest (± 265 Km)
Your last day of the tour will begin with breakfast at the hotel, whereafter you depart for the Tsitsikamma Forest. En route you pass Plettenberg Bay and Keurbooms River. You turn off for Storm's River Mouth situated in the Tsitsikamma Forest Reserve. The coast of this region is also a marine reserve. Walk to the suspension bridge over the river and enjoy the wonderful photo opportunities that this rugged coast offers. You continue along the scenic Garden Route with a stop for lunch (own account). Travel past the popular Jeffrey's Bay, one of the venues on the international surfing circuit. Arrive late afternoon at Port Elizabeth to be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
