The district is known for wine, fresh and dried fruits and olives which are locally grown and processed. In virtually all South African kitchens you will find bottles of spices produced at Robertson. This area is also becoming one of the pioneers in organic farming. Robertson is home to the Klipdrift Brandy Distillery.
A number of farm stalls offer fresh fruit, dried fruit, homemade breads, jams and preserves. Add to this the opportunity of wine tasting and sampling locally produced cheeses at some of the many wine estates around Robertson and you are in for a culinary feast.
Attractions at Robertson include river boat cruises, game drives, hiking trails and visits to the Sheilam Cacti and Succulent Garden. Furthermore Robertson also offers opportunities for biking, river rafting and horse riding.

##Barrydale Barrydale in the Tradouw Valley is one of the picturesque small towns in the Klein Karoo. The narrow and fertile Tradouw Valley is nestled between the Langeberg and Swartberg Mountain ranges. ##Klipdrift Brandy Distillery Nearly a hundred years ago, Mr JP (Kosie) Marais decided to produce brandy in this mainly wine producing region. He knew that Chenin Blanc and Columbar (grape varieties), that were successfully grown in the Robertson district, was most suited for brandy making. He developed Klipdrift, the unique South African brandy.
