4 Day Scenic and Wildlife Scheduled Tour
Overview
You will be collected at your hotel in Johannesburg by your professional tour guide. You depart eastwards for Mpumalanga, home of the Kruger National Park and a region of spectacular scenery. You travel along the Robbers Pass to tour the Panorama Route with wonderful views down the escarpment at the Three Rondavels viewpoint and God's Window. Visit the Lisbon Falls and then check in at your hotel in Sabie. On day two you travel down the escarpment for a visit to Elephant Whispers for interaction with these magnificent animals. Continue to the Kruger Cultural Village for exposure to different local cultures. Enjoy a lunch of African cuisine (own account). Head into the Kruger National Park for an afternoon closed vehicle game drive. Enjoy a boma style dinner at your hotel (weather permitting). On day three you travel to Mthethomusha Game Reserve through the southern part of the Kruger Park. Late afternoon you do an open safari vehicle game drive at Mthetomusha (a big 5 reserve), spotting and enjoying the wonderful variety of animals. You have the opportunity to view San rock paintings before enjoying dinner at your overnight lodge. The last day offers a final game drive before you travel to Johannesburg via the enchanting mountain village, Kaapsehoop. Hopefully you will see some of the wild horses that roam this area.
Itinerary
- Day 1 Johannesburg → Sabie
Johannesburg to Sabie via the Panorama Route (±395 km)
You will be collected at your hotel in Johannesburg to depart for Mpumalanga Province, an area of wonderful scenic beauty and home to the Kruger National Park. The route takes you eastwards. You continue through the town of Dullstroom which is well known for trout fishing. Enjoy lunch en route (own account). You proceed along the iconic Panorama Route that runs on the edge of the escarpment with spectacular views over the Lowveld. Your tour includes the viewpoints at Three Rondavels and God's Window. Travel on to Sabie via the scenic Lisbon Falls.

- Day 2 Sabie → Protea Hotel Kruger Gate
Sabie to Kruger Gate via Hazyview (±80 km)
After breakfast you travel down the escarpment to Elephant Whispers, an elephant sanctuary for elephants rescued from a culling program. You have the privilege to meet and interact with the elephants who will graciously oblige for a photo session. Depart for the Kruger Cultural Village where you enjoy an educational tour of the traditional lifestyle of the African cultures of this region. Experience Shangaan, Zulu, Swazi and Ndebele dance and attire. Enjoy a lunch of African cuisine before departing for the Kruger National Park. The afternoon is devoted to your first closed vehicle game drive in this magnificent game reserve. The day ends at your hotel with a boma (open air) dinner (weather permitting).

- Day 3 Protea Hotel Kruger Gate → Mthethomusha Game Reserve
Kruger Gate to Mthethomusha Game Reserve via the Kruger National Park (±87 km)
After breakfast you check out and enter the Kruger National Park for a full day tour of this magnificent place of conservation. The Kruger Park is home to 147 mammal species, 114 reptiles and 336 tree species, not to mention the incredible number of bird species. The big five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) are frequently the main attraction. Though animals roam freely, luck determines how many will be found, which adds to the adventure of game viewing. The route will take you to Skukuza and then south to the Malelane Gate where you exit the Park and head for the Mthethomusha Private Game Reserve (a big 5 reserve). Late afternoon you do an open safari vehicle game drive with a qualified game ranger in search of the animals of the bush. You also visit rock art done by the Bushmen who originally lived in this region. The day is ended at the lodge with drinks (own account) and a dinner of pan-African cuisine.

- Day 4 Mthethomusha Game Reserve → Johannesburg
Mthethomusha Game Reserve to Johannesburg via Kaapsehoop (390 km)
Your final day starts with a last opportunity of game viewing on an early morning open vehicle game drive. You depart for Johannesburg via Kaapsehoop. Kaapsehoop is an attractive mountain village with beautiful views over the Kaap Valley. Enjoy lunch (own account). Hopefully you will see some of the wild horses that roam this area. You travel back to Johannesburg where your guide will drop you off at your hotel or the OR Tambo International Airport.
